Yolo County Democratic Party to Host 35th Annual Bean Feed Dinner Featuring Former California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and Congressman John Garamendi

Davis, CA- The annual Bean Feed, a fun-filled Yolo County Democratic Party (YCDP) fundraiser, launches our 2012 election cycle. Hundreds of Democrats from Yolo and neighboring counties, will network, socialize, and support vital preparation for all of our activities this coming year. The enthusiasm for the 2012 election is already apparent; this Bean Feed will bring together our energized organizers — new and veteran — so Democrats can ensure that Yolo will not balance budgets on the backs of our elders, children, or at the expense of our environment.

The dinner takes place on Sunday, October 23rd from 5pm to 8pm at the Davis Veterans’ Memorial Center (203 East 14th St., Davis). Food will be served at 5:30pm and the speaking program is scheduled for 6pm. We’re excited to have a tribute to Congressman Vic Fazio and a presentation from former California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and Congressman John Garamendi. The Bean Feed event this year will feature a never-before-attempted mini-fun-fair and a silent auction that showcases Yolo County products.

Former State Treasurer Phil Angelides has most recently served as the Chairman of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission that was charged with conducting the nation’s official inquiry into the causes of the financial and economic crisis. He will speak about the recklessness of Wall Street that caused the crisis and what we can do to rebuild an economy of fairness and strength.

Due to redistricting, Congressman John Garamendi will be running in the new 3rd Congressional District which will include Davis, Winters, and Woodland. This will be an opportunity to learn what you can do to help Congressman Garamendi in his upcoming competitive race.

The Bean Feed will be an energizing launchpad for 2012. This is a great opportunity to support our Democratic Legislators, to learn more about what is being done to prepare for the challenges of the 2012 election cycle, and to find out how you can help.

Tickets are $35.00 per person and can be purchased at the door or at
